Why I’m Running
Hello! I’m Marla Helseth and I’m running for public office because I want to bring a new perspective to Minnesota politics. My aim is to turn the government’s focus to what our legislature should be paying attention to such as funding law enforcement and keeping people safe, supporting parental involvement in schools, and protecting and sustaining our civil liberties. I hope to work toward these good ends, but I also want to hear from you! Together we can improve the lives of everyone in our community. I hope you’ll join me!

Meet Marla
I’m Marla Helseth. I’m married to Paul Helseth, who is a professor of theology at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul. We have two kids and a Black Lab named Ruby, and we have lived in Eden Prairie for almost ten years, but before that we lived in Minnetonka for nine years as well. We know and love this area very much!
I’m originally from Illinois. My parents grew up in the Chicago area and a few years after my father died of Sickle Cell Disease my mom moved me and my five siblings to Minnesota. I went into modeling right out of high school and enjoyed that for a while until…
My family and I have loved living and serving (and running!) in this community.

Let’s Take A Stand Together
“If you don’t stand for something…you will fall for anything,” as the saying goes. We need to return to governing from the standard of our Constitution, not from the ideological winds of the culture.
